Response #6 find a poet

The poet that seemed appealing to me was A E Housman, because his or her poems seemed exciting to read. I could picture myself on a summer day when something goes bad. I felt like the poet have some strong emotions about the war, because he expressed a lot about people dead and never returning, and how the people made loud noises in thing in such manner. I think that he felt disturbed by the war when he or she was younger or some thing. I feel that the poet was apart of the war, because he puts so much detail about how the scene was with their noises and everything. I could picture myself standing on a battle field in the summer time ready to die to defeat some on else.

The poems connect to my life, because I express my self in ways of writing it down in poems or drawing pictures when I am angry or disturbed by something I didn’t like or disagreed with. I also some times seem calm when I am angry and in the poets poems the person seems to choose calm but meaningful words to express their feelings. Some times I feel like I am ready to defeat my dad when he makes me mad and willing to die over it if I am that angry.

My personal definition of poetry is a way to express your self in any way or style whether it rhymes or not, to express happy and sad thoughts.

The widow douglas has a positive influence on huck finn, becuase she encourages him with his school work. The quote: the widow said I was coming along slow but sure, ankd doing very well, she said she wasn't ashamed of me. ( chapter 4 pg 11 par 2 last two senences.)

Pap has apositive influence on huck finn becuae he tought huck a saying that he remembers later on in his journey. The quote: pap always said, take a chicken when you get a chance, becuase if you don't want him yourself you can eastly find someone that does.( chp.12 pg49 para 2 in the middle.)

Tom sawyer has a positive influence on huck finn , becuase he encourages him to be brave. Quote:I was justabling with curiosity and I says to my self, Tom sawyer wouldn't back out now so I won't either. ( chp.12 pg.51 para.3 2nd sentence.)

Jim has a positive influec=nce on huck finn, becuase they work toghether when they are in trouble. Quote. Jim said he didn't believe he could go any farther, so scared he hadn't hardly any strenghtth left he said, But I said come on if we get left on this wreck we are in a fix ( chp.13 pg.53 para.1 in the middle.

It was lection day, and I was just about to go and vote, myself, If I warn't too drunk to get there, but when they6 told me there was a state in this country where they'd let that N vote I drawed out. The chapter is 2 on page 20. The quote means that paps didn't want to vote, because he thinks that N's shouldn't be able to vote and should be sold.

what I think about racism is that it is wrong, You shouldn't be judged on your color. I think that people in general should be treated equally and fair.

Huck finns father thinks that blacks should not be able to vate, but huck on the other hand probably would want every one to vote because it is the right thing to do even if it is against the law.

What I think 826 national could do for us is come help students that have problems in school with there reading and writting. I also beleive that they could donate paper to us since they have so much, because it is really hard to use paper over and over for different things. I also believe that they could inspire us to do better in school by making programs for us that are free, so that we would want to come in learn, and not worry about how we are going to pay for our education.
